GOOD NEWS: Kind Strangers Step In To Save Single Mom’s House

Jane Cunningham knew her home was in desperate need of repairs, but she couldn’t afford to make them. Her Sudbury, Massachusetts, house was in rough shape - her roof was shot, she had mold and part of her ceiling collapsed. The single mom of three knew her family wasn’t safe there, but she was out of options, until a friend started a GoFundMecampaign for her.

The online fundraiser caught the attention of Dave Fenton, who happens to be the Chief Operating Officer of Suffolk Construction Boston. He says her story moved him, so he reached out to contacts and partners in the construction biz and these good Samaritans got things done. They fixed the roof, the mold issue, took care of drywall, some electrical work and as Fenton says, “kind of got the place secured up for the winter time.”

Cunningham describes the home improvements as “life-changing” and she is beyond grateful. “I’m just blown away by all the kindness,” she explains. “And it really just changes our whole outlook on life and it changes the trajectory of our life as well.”
