GOOD NEWS: Girl Starts Charity To Help Homeless Kids

A little girl in Wisconsin is working hard for a cause near and dear to her heart - child homelessness. Peyton is only eight, but when she found out that there are homeless kids all over the country that are just like her, she wanted to do something about it. The third grader has even started her own charity, Eye of a Child, to raise money and awareness of the issue.

Inspired by her great-uncle who knew the struggle of homelessness, Peyton has been busy making T-shirts and homemade crayon hearts to sell and all the money goes to homeless shelters of her choice. She also sends toys, hygiene products and more to shelters around the Milwaukee area, as well as in Los Angeles, where she has family. She’s even using her birthday to have a “community party” where people can drop off donations for those in need.

And this young activist shares some important advice for other dreamers. “If you have a dream, please follow it,” Peyton says. “Don’t give up because you probably can reach your goal and I believe in you.”
