GOOD NEWS: Cancer Survivor Breaks Girl Scout Cookie Record

An eight-year-old Girl Scout from San Bernardino, California has been working hard to sell cookies this year and her efforts have paid off. Lilly Bumpus sold an impressive 32,484 boxes of cookies this season, smashing the previous record of 26,086.

But even more impressive than her cookie hawking skills? This “Brownie” level Girl Scout is a cancer survivor who has beaten Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare type of cancer. And with one week left in cookie season, Lilly was determined to break the record for sales, so she worked 11 straight hours outside her home and sold 500 boxes in a day.

"She showed our community and the world it’s more than just buying cookies or buying a product," says Lilly’s mother, Trish Bauer.
