112 candles to celebrate!

Lawrence Brooksis being celebrated in style for his recent birthday. America’s oldest living World War II veteran turned 112 on September 12th and was treated to a drive-by parade at his New Orleans home, thanks to the National World War II Museum.

The vet was decked out in a Saints jersey and waved to well-wishers from his porch. Brooks also shared some advice for the crowd, telling them to “serve God and be nice to people.”

The Governor of Louisiana,John Bel Edwards, also gave Brooks a birthday shout outon Twitter. He posted a photo of the two of them, writing, “Mr. Brooks, the entire state of Louisiana thanks you for your service and we all wish you a joyous birthday.”
