Officers hand out CASH

The police in Oceanside, California, are handing out cash at local gas stations as part of their Random Acts of Kindness Program. A few days ago, the Oceanside Police Department took to Facebook to share some pics of them giving the money to a few happy citizens.

“We are giving random acts of kindness this month at local gas stations to help drivers with the pain of rising fuel costs” the post reads. The department's public information officer Jennifer Attenza says the money is distributed to all officers on all shifts citywide.

The giveaway is possible because of a donation from a local family that allows the department to perform random acts of kindness throughout the year. This month, the department is headed to local grocery stores to continue the giving.
