Before unleashing his highly-anticipated new album, Jimmie Allen premiered a music video for a dance-worthy collaboration from one of his previous projects. Allen joined forces with Lindsay Ell and teamwork on “Tequila Talkin,’” one of 16 tracks included on Bettie James Gold Edition last year:

“Then please ignore me, it's just tequila talkin’/ It's three in the morning/ I don't know why I'm calling you/ Can't seem to let go, I say things I'll regret, so/ Just please ignore me/ It's just tequila talkin', yeah”

The project served as an extension of Allen’s 2020 collection, packed with new collaborations. Bettie James Gold Edition featured LOCASH, LANCO, Breland, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Neon Union, Nelly, Mickey Guyton, Tim McGraw, Charley Pride and more.

“When it comes to music I love, I don’t really get wrapped up in boundaries or genres. I thought we were gonna stop with the collaborations with Bettie James, and then I was like man, there’s so much music out there that I love, so many artists that I love, and I just wasn’t done,” Allen said in a press statement at the time. “There’s some pop, there’s some rock, there’s some country, there’s some R&B. I got a chance to work with legends!”

Allen teams up with tons of other artists on his upcoming album, Tulip Drive, which is set to release on Friday (June 24). His third full-length album, named after the street his grandmother lived on in Delaware, is set to include previously-released tracks “Down Home” and “On My Way,” a duet with Jennifer Lopez, reimagining the song from her movie that premiered this year, Marry Me. CeeLo Green and T-Pain, and Katie Ohh also appear on the 17-track album.

Allen will celebrate Tulip Drive’s release with an exclusive iHeartCountry Album Release Party presented by AT&T Dream In Black.
