This year, July 28th is National Intern Appreciation Day! A totally “unofficial” holiday, National Intern Appreciation Day is new – it was first celebrated in 2017 by WayUp (a company dedicated to matching interns with companies).
With its own website to boot – NationalInternDay.com – college students and companies are encouraged to connect. But it’s not just about putting people together. It’s actually about CELEBRATING these motivated folks (who totally should be, because interning is too often a totally thankless effort).
Where’s the cheer? Employers can nominate interns in various categories – and the top vote getters by the end of the day receive gift cards from Amazon, AirBnB, Apple and other companies. Likewise, interns can nominate their bosses or programs. Feel the appreciation people!
