Valarie Hinther and her husband passed a black dog lying just feet from the side of an Oklahoma highway and just had to turn around to check on her. A State Patrol officer said they’d gotten a report that the pup had been thrown from the overpass, 17 feet above the highway. She was near death, but the Hinthers picked her up and took her back to their home in Yukon, Oklahoma.
They took the dog, a black Labradoodle, to the vet, who told them she’d been shot in the chest and ligaments in both her rear legs were torn, but miraculously, she didn’t have any broken bones or fractures or internal bleeding. The Hinthers decided to adopt her and they named her Miracle.
The family already had one Labradoodle at home, so they say their new addition has fit right in. "Miracle has been such a joy," Valarie says. "She has gotten a lot of outpouring of love from people. They want to see her succeed."
