First Graders’ Lemonade Stand Raises $1,100 To Help Students In Need: East Texas first-graders Liam Tomberlain and Olivia O’pry raised over $11-hundred by selling lemonade and cookies to support their school's backpack program, which provides food to students in need. Liam and Olivia’s initiative was critical as the program was facing a shortage of donations and increased costs. The money they raised will help to cover the food expenses for about five students for the entire school year. Their efforts were recognized at a school board meeting, and they plan to continue fundraising next year.
