Facebook Is Rolling Out A Fake News Filter-A social media giant is working to keep fake news from interfering with another election.
Facebook announced today it's working with eight media companies in France to fact-check and filter news articles reported by users. When users report an article as false, it will go to a portal accessible to all eight media companies. If at least two companies confirm the article is false, and have links to back up their conclusion, Facebook's News Feed will flag the article as disputed. Users will then see a warning before they share the article.
Facebook also said it’s supporting CrossCheck, an initiative that will allow users to submit questions and gather information from 16 French media partners. CrossCheck was launched by the First Draft News coalition, with support from the Google News Lab.Source: The Verge
