Christie Brinkley is back on the pages of “Sports Illustrated,” but she won’t be alone. This time, she’s bringing along her two daughters – 31-year-old Alexa Ray Joel and 18-year-old Sailor Brinkley Cook. – for this go-round.
The 63-year-old first covered the magazine in 1979 and then set a record for being the cover model for the next two years. She just hung up her bikini in 2004. Her girls were the ones who encouraged her to model again. She said, “When I turned 30, I was like, ‘This is the last time I’m posing in a bathing suit!’ When this issue comes out, I’ll be 63. I thought, ‘Those days are over.’ But to get to do it with my girls, I thought, ‘One last go!'”
While Alexa is following in her father Billy Joel’s musical footsteps, Sailor is already trying her hand at modeling. The magazine hits stores Monday.
