If you want to see real happiness, check out Finland. For the fifth straight year, Finland topped the Gallup World Poll as the happiest country on Earth, based “largely on life evaluations.” The complete top ten came out like this:
- Finland
- Denmark
- Iceland
- Switzerland
- The Netherlands
- Luxembourg
- Sweden
- Norway
- Israel
- New Zealand
Closer to home, Canada came in 15th place and the good ol’ USA was 16th. Factors that played into the ranking included “healthy life expectancy, GDP per capita, social support in times of trouble, low corruption and high social trust, communal generosity.”
